By the financial performance for the I quarter of the year 2002 TBC Bank has established itself as the largest bank in Georgia. At this stage, TBC Bank is leading by assets, as well as by liabilities, credit portfolio and some other major financial indicators.
On March 14 there was open Telavi Branch of TBC Bank. After Samtskhe-Javakheti, Kvemo Kartli, Kutaisi and Poti, Telavi Branch is the number five branch that TBC Bank has opened in the regions of Georgia.
On June 13th at 2001 Georgian Business Rating Ceremony TBC Bank was nominated as The Best Georgian Company of 2001 award. Whereas TBC Bank’s General Director, Mr. Vakhtang Butskhrikidze, was presented The Best Georgian Businessman of 2001 award. It is also noteworthy that apart from the main award, TBC Bank was presented special category award for The Most Effective Management.
The contest, organizers of which are media holding Georgian Times and public opinion and marketing research association GORBI, is carried out annually for the past seven years and it could be easily classified as the main business contest event in Georgia.
It is TBC Group’s second such a significant success on the contest. In 1995 TBC Group was awarded The Best Georgian Company of 1995 award, while the company’s president, Mr. Mamuka Khazaradze, won The Best Georgian Businessman of 1995 award.
