On April 30, in the framework of Kolga Tbilisi Photo Competition, TBC Gallery hosted photo exhibition by famous Georgian sports photographer Aleksandre Kotorashvili. Exhibition was  entitled “the History of Georgian Sport 1963- 2003“.

On March 13, the presentation of the new book by Giorgi Kekelidze, a Georgian poet and laureate of the Saba literary prize was held. At the same time, an exhibition featuring the work of  book illustrator and painter, Mai Lashauri, was opened.

On February 26, the concert of young Georgian pianist, Salome Jordania, was held and was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of TBC Bank’s unique main office building.

On February 22, TBC Gallery hosted the music and literary evening Word and Sound. The evening was dedicated to Richard Wagner.

On January 30, a new book written by Georgian poet, writer and laureate of the Saba literary prize, Besik Kharanauli, was presented to society. The book is entitled The Main Actor. At the same time, a documentary by Ketevan Sadgobelashvili was screened. The documentary was dedicated to Besik Kharanauli.

TBC Gallery hosted the presentation of new book by Diana Anphimiadi, famous Georgian poet, a laureate of Lirerary Prize Saba. This was a collection of poems entitled “The Trajectory of Near Looking”. 

The book was published by the publishing house “Saunje”. “The Trajectory of Near Looking” is the third collection of poems by Diana Anphimiadi.

Personal Exhibition of Lulu Dadiani was opened in TBC Gallery. More than 30 paintings were exhibited which were painted by Lulu Dadiani from 1990.

Lulu Dadiani is a famous Georgian painter. She is the author of many personal exhibitions in Georgia as well as in Europe. She is also a book illustrator. The books illustrated by Lulu Dadiani are as follows: Prose collections by Rainer Maria Rilke (V books), Henry Von Ofterdingen by Novalis, etc.    

TBC Gallery hosted the presentation of the project entitled Map of Literature. This is a unique project on the webpage www.pencenter.ge which firstly in Georgia enables visitors get a full information about Georgian writers’ biography, bibliography, museums and any news related with them. This map on the webpage helps you to get a look on the whole space where literary processes developed in different years  

Exhibition includes photos by Nigel Dickinson taken in many European countries and rare places. The idea of exhibition unites topics as follows:  
•    Roma Diaspora in Europe – Roma are a people whose history is not written within one countrys borders. They originated from India, traversing Asia as the Ottoman Empire pushed towards Europes frontiers. Enslaved by monasteries in Romania, many were later deported to the Americas. Their story is about diaspora, migration, persecution and ethnic cleansing.
•    Smokey Mountain rubbish dump, which started as a landfill site sixty years ago, is on the outskirts Cambodia's capital Phnom Penh; the grey cloud of acrid smoke exuding from constantly burning garbage gives it its nickname. 24 hours a day or night, some 2,000 casual workers, including 600 children, scavenge the dumpsite, collecting plastic bags, metal, plastics and paper for recycling
•    Kano is capital of the northern states, Nigeria's least developed metropolis of 3 million, where the Emir governs with a form of medieval Sharia Islamic feudal law, controlling his people through enforced poverty. Voodoo animism and strict segregation exist side by side. African style, in a region ruled by militias, religious Hisbah (Sharia Police), vigilantes, mafia and ghetto gangs.
•    Environmental portraits share rare and intimate scenes inside their sumptuous homes, where the rich and famous reveal themselves;

Nigel Dickinson, a British documentary photographer, photojournalist, and filmmaker, focuses on the environment, marginalized communities, sustainable development, identity and culture.
Features have been published in National Geographic, Stern, Le Figaro, Vogue Homme, Marie Claire. His work has been exhibited at the Venice Biennale, Visa Pour L'image, Rencontres d'Arles, Moving Walls documentary series in New York, and currently at Rivington Place, London.

Master Class of Krzysztof Zanussi, famous Polish film director, was held at TBC Gallery in the framework of the film project entitled “20 years/12 months”. Young cinematographers who won the competition and work on 12 films, attended the master class.

TBC Bank specially invited Krzysztof Zanussi to participate in the project. The Director met all 60 participants of the project and talked about his conception and technique of film direction. Master class continued for three days.

“20 years/12 months” is an anniversary project of TBC Bank. In the framework of this project 12 creative groups of young cinematographers work on 12 films about 12 months of the year. At 20th anniversary of TBC Bank, on December 17, people will get a chance to watch the final product - a full feature film consisted of 12 short films.  

From 1970 years Krzysztof Zanussi has been the most productive film directors in Poland. He usually releases one or two films per year. He is the owner of many international prizes and awards. The most important films by Zanussi are as follows: Family life (Silver Hugo, International Film Festival, Chicago 1971);  Illumination (Ecumenical Jury's Award, International Film Festival, Locarno 1973); The Year of the Quiet Sun (Golden Lion, International Film Festival, Venice 1984), Life as a Fatal Sexually Transmitted Disease (Grand Prix – International Film Festival Moscow 2000); etc.

The concert of Mikhail Arkadyev, Russian pianist and conductor was held in TBC Gallery. He performed compositions by Johan Sebastian Bach, Yoseb Bardanashvili and Modest Mussorgsky was performed.  

Mikhail Arkadyev is a famous Russian pianist, music theorist, philosopher and human rights defender. As a conductor he has been invited to many international orchestras. He is also the author of many piano and chamber music compositions.  

Exhibition of works by people with mental diseases entitled “We are Together” was held at TBC Gallery.  About 100 works of art were exhibited among which were paintings, thick felt, graphic, etc.

The aim of the project is to help people with mental diseases to integrate in public, increase public awareness and reduce stigma.

TBC Gallery hosted the exhibition of paintings by Irakli Parjiani and the presentation of the fifth album of the project “Georgian Painting”.

Visitors are able to see Parjiani’s less famous paintings, which had been kept in private collections and have never been exhibited before. Here visitors can see portraits as well as religious and metaphisic paintings, etc.

TBC Gallery hosted the presentation of the new book entitled “Crucial Color” dedicated to famous Georgian actress, Nana Kipiani.  

The book consists of photos made by famous Georgian photographers, Irina abzhandadze, Guram Tsibakhashvili, Yuri Mechitov, etc, also portraits of Nana Kipiani made by Edmond Kalandadze, Eleonora Shablovskaya and others. Here you can also find poems dedicated to Nana Kipiani and memories about her film-career.

Photographs covering a variety of themes and printed with using a historic photographic technique was exhibited in a framework of a project “Sun Print” at TBC Gallery. Cyanotype photographic priocess was invented by Sir John Herschel in 1842. Usually printed in the dark, the exhibited photos were printed under the sunlight and developed blue images had a graphic effect. Black tea gives a perfect solution for shading photographs and helps to make the image more expressive. Print a negative, stain paper with spots of different forms complimenting the character of an image and then, wait the final result under the influence of the sun rays.... that is the technique which was used by the author of Sun Print - Mindia Midelashvili and TBC Bank, which supported the project.

Georgian Russian Counterpoint  – the book by Yuri Vachnadze was presented at TBC Gallery. The book tells the story of young Georgian state and its development as well as the relationship with Russia. The book consists of articles by Yuri Vachnadze. CD is also enclosed with Vachnadze’s radio programs aired on American radio entitled Svoboda. The book is available in book-stores.

Autism International Day was celebrated at TBC Gallery with an inclusive exhibition where Georgian Autism Association and Ilia University presented works of art by autistic children and students of Ilia university Art School

Japanese professor, Hirokate Maeda presented his new book “Georgians in Iran” at TBC Gallery.  

The book tells the story of Georgian noblemen  – Baratashvilis, Saakadzes, Undiladzes and Marimanidzes. The story is about their life in Iran.

New facts are discovered in this new book of Japanese author, who had been researching Georgia’s history for a long time.

Presentation was held in the frame of Japanese Culture Month- Japanese Spring.

TBC Gallery Hosted the Concert of Federico Mondelci, Famous Italian Saxophonist.  The String Group of the State Symphonic Orchestra and Nikoloz Rachveli, piano - performed at the concert as well.

In the last 20 years, Federico Mondelci has established himself as one of the leading saxophonists of his generation. he has performed as soloist with all the major orchestras in Italy. Numerous compositions have been dedicated to him and subsequently performed and broadcast for many important venues in Europe and America.  

Federico Mondelci has been an active promoter of contemporary music and innovator of instrumental technique.

In TBC Gallery Mondelci performed masterpieces by Nino Rota, Ennio Morricone, Nicola Piovani. Loyal customers of TBC Bank attanded the concert.

TBC Gallery hosted the presentation of Lana Ghoghoberidze’s new book “French Poetry”. Georgian film-director and translator herself read poems by French poets: Charles Baudelaire, Paul Valery, Paul Verlaine, Guillaume Apollinaire, Paul Eluard, Jacques Prevert, etc.

TBC Gallery hosted the presentation of Lasha Bugadze’s new book entitled “Navigator”. The play won the BBC International Radio Playwriting Competition of 2011. Navigator is the tragic-comedy telling the stories on human solitude. The play is written in a very dinamic way. The author read the episodes from the play himself. Bakur Sulakauri Publishing House published the book and will be available in almostg all book-stores in Tbilisi.

The Day before Tbilisi jazz festival Grammy winner Sonny Emory held a master class for Georgian drummers and jazz performers. Exclusive master class was organized and financed by TBC STATUS, sponsor of Tbilisi Jazz Festival.

For the first time, Georgian drummers were given possibility to attend master class of such a big performer and listen to his advices and comments about technique of playing on drums.

Attending Sonny Emory’s master classes is believed to be a great honor for young drummers and Jazz musicians. Sonny Emory is known as a “Drummer for Stars”. For 20 years of his brilliant career Sonny Emory has played with legends like Earth Wind and Fire; Joe Sample; The Crusaders; Bette Midler; Jennifer Lopez, Stanley Clarke; David Sanborn; Al Jarreau ...

TBC Gallery hosted unique exhibition of Georgian artist, Avto Varazi on 24  of October of this year. TBC Bank gathered famous paintings by Varazi from private collections and gave the people chance to see these unique exhibition after long a pause. Very precious and special paintings like pop-art “Guitanne”, “Portrait of a Book-seller”, “Violin”, “Christ”, “Lady in an Arm-chair”, etc were exhibited at TBC’s Gallery.

The Album named “Avto Varazi” was also presented to the wider society. The author of the newly published album is “The Publishing House of Karchkhadze” in the frame of which new albums of Georgian artists will be published every month. Albums of Gigo Gabashvili and Elene Akhvlediani will be next. TBC Gallery will host these exhibitions and presentations each time.

TBC Gallery hosted the book-presentation of Bidzina Kvernadze, Georgian composer. “Elderly, Sometimes Not”... is the name of the book. Sandro Kancheli is the author and complier. Illustrations are made by Revaz gabriadze.

“Elderly, Sometimes Not”.. is a sort of memory-book about Bidzina Kvernadze. Here are stories based on his everyday life, humorous episodes, ect. Sandro Kancheli, the author of this original idea, collected materials for the book and used the diary of Nugesha Meskhi, the wife of Bidzina Kvernadze.  

The presentation was followed by a small concert. Nani Bregvadze, famous Georgian singer performed Kvernadze’s “Vardebi ar arian”...Nika Nikvashvili was also there to play instrumental music by Bidzina Kvernadze. Composer’s family, friends and colleagues attended the evening at TBC Bank.

TBC Bank organized a presentation of new books of young poet Mikheil Tkebuchava (Gardener) at TBC Gallery. The books are as follows;

• Keyboard of Easel

Mikheil Tkebuchava, born in 1984, Tbilisi, Georgia studied at Iv. Javakhishvili State University. In 2000 graduated from Oxford Summer School. He is the author of 5 books and 6 poems among which is 1000-strophe poem “Thousand Years of a Second”... Mikheil Tkebuchava is the author of short films as well: “The Garden of Poetry”; “Filmpoetry” and “The Church of Poetry”.

On June 14 a concert featuring Tea Chkuaseli (piano), Giorgi Jorjadze (violoncello) and Lela Mchedlidze (violin) was held in TBC Gallery.  

On June 10 TBC Gallery hosted an exhibition of unknown works by Georgian photographer Alexandre Saakov.

On May 28 and through the initiative of Georgia’s first lady Sandra Roelofs, an exhibition named Festival of Colors by painter Paata Khuparadze was held.

On May 17 through the initiative of the Khevi Art House of Patriarchy, TBC Bank hosted an exhibition of pieces of work made from Mokhevian thick felt.
 

On April 26 TBC Bank held a concert performed by a theatrical quartet for its loyal customers in TBC Gallery.  

On March 24 TBC Bank hosted a wonderful evening for jazz listeners. The guest of TBC Gallery was the founder of jazz in Georgia, famous jazz pianist Tamaz (Tatuza) Kurashvili and his band. A documentary “Rythm and Sound” about the story of successful jazz pianist was screened as well.

On february 17, new Album of Bidzina Kvernadze and music papers of his last work ”Requiem” were presented at TBC Gallery. Famous Georgian musicians performed unforgetable songs by Bidzina Kvernadze.

TBC Gallery hosted an unforgetable concert of Eliso Bolkvadze. Famous Georgian pianist performed a one-hour concert for her devoted listeners. 

On May 14 works of Gia Gugushvili were exhibited and a catalog published by Pierre Hesler Art Fund was presented.
