What is Mobile Bank?


Mobile bank is an application through which you can perform a number of banking operations. After installing it to you cell phone it is available as a separate menu on you list.

What operations can I perform?
 
You can perform the following operations:
  • Access information about your accounts
  • View transactions made (last five transactions)
  • Transfer money between your own accounts
  • Conversion
  • Utility payments
  • Top-ups to your cell phone
  • Block/unblock your cards
  • View the latest exchange rates
  • Check addresses of TBC Bank branches and ATM’s.
The transactions will show instantly. In case of utility payments, they are made after the confirmation of an operator, which doesn’t take more than couple of hours.

Who is eligible to use the program?

Individuals who have one or more accounts at TBC Bank and use one of the mobile operators in Georgia (Geocell, Magti, Beeline)

What are the requirements?
  • A personal telephone code for telephone banking
  • A cell phone with JAVA MIDP 2.0 support
    Activated GPRS Internet function

Which cell phone is applicable?

Cell phones with following supports:
  • JAVA MIDP 2.0
  • GPRS Internet
Most of the cell phones produced from 2001-2002 satisfy above-mentioned parameters. A User’s Guide that comes with every cell phone contains this information.

How to activate GPRS Internet on the cell phone?
 
If you are using Geocell (877/893/855), you can:
  • Visit their service center
  • Call: 928 (from cell phone)
    (822) 77 01 77 (land phone)
  • Dial: *106*4*1#OK, after which it is necessary to set GPRS parameters by calling the operator or using GeoInstaller.

If you are using Magti (899/895/898), you can:
  • Visit their service center
  • Call: 525 (from cell phone)
    (822) 25 00 00; (822) 25 11 11.
  • Dial: 44300041 OK (only for 3G phones)
    443777937 OK
If you are using Beeline (897), you can:
  • Visit their service center

After activating GPRS internet you will receive necessary setting parameters. Set-up is automated, so auto installer will set the parameters for you.

How to download the program?
The program is available on: www.tbcmobile.ge, which you have to access through your cell phone. Choosing Mobile Bank link on the page will automatically install it to the phone.
If you cannot type the link into you mobile phone you can also get the link by SMS:
  • Call 27 27 27
  • Send “Link” to 1004 (for Magti and Geocell)
 
There are no preliminary procedures to register for Mobile Bank. After downloading it, you need to input the following information:
  • Your ID number – 11 digit number on your personal ID card
  • A personal telephone code – an 8 digit number, used for telephone banking
In case the information is correct Mobile Bank will require that you change your personal telephone code: a new code will be your password for Mobile Bank (your personal telephone code for telephone banking will remain the same).

What is the difference between a personal telephone code and Mobile Bank password?
 
A personal telephone code is a “first entry” code to run Mobile Bank. After the first run, you will be requested to change the code to Mobile Bank password. However, your personal telephone code will not change, it will remain the same and you can use it in future for telephone banking.

What are the requirements for the password?
 
The password should be more than 8, but less than 16 symbols: numbers or letters, or both combined.

How much is the service?
 
Registration and maintenance is free. Transactions made have the following fees:
  • Transfers between personal accounts – free
  • Utility payments – 0.5 GEL*
  • Top-ups – free
*excluding Telasi, Tbilisi Water and Municipal Cleaning service.

What are the limits on operations performed?

Single – 20,000
During the day – 20,000
During the week – 50,000

How much will the GPRS Internet cost me?
GPRS internet cost is determined by the telephone operator. They depend on the information sent/received. All the information sent or received usisng Mobile Bank is not more 10 KB, which is less than 1 tetri for single use.

What are the safety precautions?
 
All the information is coded and not seen by anyone. However, we have some recommendations for maximum security:
  • Do not share your personal telephone code or password with anyone
  • Its is not recommended to access Mobile Bank through someone else’s cell phone
  • Its is not recommended to lend you cell phone to anyone, with Mobile Bank installed on it
  • We recommend changing the password at least once a month
  • In case of loss/damage of you phone, it is recommended to contact the bank and block the service.

What information does Mobile Bank memorize after the first run?

The program remembers your personal ID number. You will need to re-enter you password with every run.

What to do if I lose/forget my password?
 
It is necessary to call the bank. The operator will renew the password. You will have to re-enter the program using your personal telephone code. For details see Q.9.

What if I made a mistake entering my password?
 
If you entered your password wrong three times in a row, the program will block for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, you can run the program with the correct password.

How to update Mobile Bank?
 
If there is a new version available, the program will notify you upon entry. After the restart of the program, it will automatically update.

I cannot access login and password page.

Probably you have to following problems:
  • GRPS internet is not activated (see GRPS activation instruction)
  • GPRS parameters are not set correctly (see GPRS set-up)
  • If you cannot access Mobile Bank, but GPRS internet is on, see GPRS set-up by hand
  • You need to top-up your balance (after top-up it is necessary to restart you cell phone for the internet to function properly)
  • Make sure the information you enter is correct
  • Call 27 27 27 to renew your password

What languages are available for the program?
 
Mobile Bank has two languages: English and Georgian.

What if I leave the program on?
 
The program will block after 10 minutes. In this case it is necessary to restart it.

What accounts will show in the accounts menu? (Products -> My Accounts)
 
Accounts, such as: current, “My Save”, savings, plastic card accounts in appropriate currencies

What cards will show in the cards menu? (Products -> My Cards)
All cards, among witch are: installment and credit cards.

What deposits will show in the deposits menu? (Product -> My Deposits)
 
All deposits, such as: Term, Term Plus and Increasing deposits. No deposit with zero balance will show.

What loan will show in the loans menu? (Products -> My Credits)
 

All the current loans that you have, including all the installments
