• You can pay with any TBC debit or credit card on public transport.

2. Do you need to activate a fare payment feature on your TBC Bank card?

• No, you don't. All TBC cards come with an activated fare payment feature and can be used for paying fares.

5. Can I pay fares with APPLE PAY, GOOGLE PAY and TBC WALLET?

• Yes, you can pay your fares with APPLE PAY, GOOGLE PAY and TBC WALLET.

6. When will APPLE PAY, GOOGLE PAY and TBC WALLET payments appear on the transaction record?

• If you pay with APPLE PAY, GOOGLE PAY or TBC WALLET, the payment will be put on hold and marked as pending immediately and will show on the transaction record on the 3^rd or 4^th day.
• Exclusion: APPLE PAY, GOOGLE PAY and TBC WALLET payments on Tbilisi transport will not become pending but will appear on the transaction record on the following business day.

7.  Can I pay fares with Ertguli Card?

• Yes, you can use your Ertguli Card on public transport.

8. Will my TBC Bank card balance go negative if there is no sufficient money in the card account?

• TBC Bank card payments on public transport are accepted offline, without balance verification. Therefore, your card balance may go negative as you pay.

9. Do you receive an SMS report after you use your card on public transport?

• Yes, if you pay on public transport by card, you will receive an SMS report confirming your payment.  

10. If you use a bank card on public transport, will the validator screen display your card balance? 

• No, if you pay your fare with a bank card, the validator screen will not display the card balance. 

11. If you use your TBC Bank card on public transport, when will the payment appear on the transaction record/card account statement?

• Your TBC Bank card payment on public transport will not become pending but will show on the transaction record/ card account statement on the following business day. 

12. Who can I contact in case of further questions?

13. How can I pay my fare with a bank card?

• To pay your fare, you should tap your bank card on the card reader of the bus validator.
• If the validator screen turns green, it means your payment has been successful.
• If the validator screen turns red, it means your payment has failed.
• The voice signal varies accordingly. 

14. Does the bus validator print a receipt or a ticket after payment?

• No, it does not. The device only accepts payments electronically.

15. How will the bus conductor know that I have paid the fare?

• The bus conductor will ask you to tap your card on a special device to check if you have paid the fare.
• Bus fare payments are checked by bus conductors. 

Paying on public transport with travel cards

1. What is a travel card?

• It is a non-personalized card that can be used to pay one's public transport fares only.
• A travel card is not linked to a bank account.
• The card does not feature the holder's name and surname. The data are not stored in the card's magnetic strip and/or microchip either.

2. Travel card validity

• Travel cards do not have any expiration date.

3. Where can I buy a travel card?

• A travel card can be purchased in TBC branches in Kutaisi, Gori, Poti, Telavi, Borjomi, Bakuriani, Dmanisi, Baghdati, Mtskheta, Sighaghi, Dedoplistskaro and Akhaltsikhe.

4. How much does a travel card cost?

• A travel card costs 2 GEL (personalized travel cards are issued free of charge to persons belonging to vulnerable groups established by the City Hall).
• The cost of the card (2 GEL) is not credited to the card balance. The card should be loaded at TBC Pay self-service kiosks.

5. Do special rates apply to travel cards? 

• There are no special rates on standard non-personalized travel cards.

6. How do I activate my travel card?

• Travel cards are active on purchase and do not require additional activation.   
• The card is valid upon the first load.

7. How can I top up my travel card?

• A travel card can be loaded at TBC Pay self-service kiosks that have card readers.

• No, topping up a travel card is free of charge.

9. How can I check my travel card balance?

You can check the travel card balance by tapping the card

•  on a TBC Pay card reader
• or on a bus validator.

10. Will the travel card balance go negative if there is not sufficient money on the card?

• The travel card balance is verified as you pay. Therefore, the card balance will not go negative. If the money on your card is not sufficient, the payment will fail and the validator will display an error message.

11. Where can I use my travel card?

Travel cards can only be used on public transport in respective cities.

12. If I lose my travel card, can I have it replaced or can I recover the balance?

• It is not possible to replace a lost travel card or to recover the balance. You can buy a new travel card for the same price, 2 GEL.
• Lost vulnerability cards can be replaced for 5 GEL.

13. Is it possible to block / unblock a travel card?

• It is not possible to block/unblock a travel card.

Paying on public transport with payment cards from other banks

1. Is it possible to pay fares with other banks' cards? 

• On public transport in Kutaisi, Telavi, Poti, Gori, Borjomi and Bakuriani, VISA/MasterCard cards from foreign banks and Bank of Georgia are also accepted. In Kutaisi, you can pay with Basis Bank cards as well.

2. How much is the fare if I use a bank card other than TBC's

If you use other banks' cards, you pay the standard fare.

All TBC Bank debit and credit cards are accepted on public transport in Tbilisi.

In Tbilisi, TBC clients can use their card to pay fares on:

• Tbilisi Metro
• Buses
• Blue Minibuses
• Cable car

General terms for using cards on transport

• If you have to change transport, you get free transfer(s) within 1.5 hours of paying the fare with your card.
• If you pay the fare with your digital wallet but use a physical card on your next ride (or vice versa), the 1.5 hour grace period will not apply.
• If you validate your bank card twice on the same bus/blue mini bus, make sure that at least 15 minutes have passed since the first, paid validation, so that your second validation is free of charge.

• Exclusion – The 1.5 hour grace period does not apply if you validate your card repeatedly at the same Metro station. The fare will be charged every time you validate your card at the same station.
• Fares are set by the City Hall. At present, the public transport fare is 1 GEL.

At present, there are no special terms on any TBC cards when used on Tbilisi public transport. Student / Pupil's Cards and payment cards issued to socially vulnerable persons are no exception.

Transit Passes for Tbilisi Public Transport

From 1 September 2022, it has been possible to integrate transit passes into TBC's physical cards. Transit passes cannot be linked to digital wallets.  

Customers may buy a transit pass for any period and get it integrated with their TBC card. Transit passes of all types can be purchased in TBC branches or via mobile banking.

To buy a transit pass in your mobile banking app, go to Transfers > Public Transport. Your transit pass will only be linked to the card you have selected for the purpose.

Transit passes can be used on the following public transport in Tbilisi:

• Tbilisi Metro
• Tbilisi Buses
• Tbilisi blue Minibuses
• University-Bagebi cable car

The transit pass on your bank card becomes valid within 3 (three) minutes of purchase.
 

One transit pass can be integrated into one active payment card only.

Only two transit passes can be integrated into the same active payment card. The second passes will become valid once the first one expires.

The transit pass on your bank card cannot be cancelled/suspended until it expires.

All transit passes integrated into a bank card have a daily limit of 20 payments. After the daily limit expires, you will not be able to use the transit pass integrated into your bank card on the same day.

The transit pass on your bank card will be on hold for 15 minutes before you use it repeatedly on the same transport. After you pay your fare with the transit pass on your bank card, you will not be able to use it again on the same transport for the next 15 minutes.

A transit pass can be transferred from one card to another in a branch. If your bank card is damaged, you can move your transit pass to your other valid card. For this purpose, you need to apply to any TBC Bank branch. Please note that if you need to replace your card due to damage or for any other reason, the transit pass will not transfer to your new card automatically. You can apply to any TBC Bank branch to get it transferred to a new card.

All TBC credit and debit cards are accepted on Batumi public transport.

General Terms of Travel

• Fares are set by the City Hall. At present, fares vary by route.
• 0,60 GEL – on routes 523;322;376;318
• 1 GEL -  on routes 367;354
• 0.30 GEL -  on all other routes

At present, there are no special terms on any TBC cards when used on Batumi public transport. Student / Pupil's Cards and payment cards issued to socially vulnerable persons are no exception.

All TBC credit and debit cards are accepted on Rustavi public transport.

General Terms of Travel

• Fares are set by the City Hall. Currently, the public transport fare is 0.5 GEL.
• The exception is Route #20 Rustavi-Tbilisi / Tbilisi-Rustavi, which costs 1.50 GEL.

At present, there are no special terms on any TBC cards when used on Rustavi public transport. Student / Pupil's Cards and payment cards issued to socially vulnerable persons are no exception.

All TBC credit and debit cards are accepted on Zugdidi public transport.

General Terms of Travel

• Fares are set by the City Hall. At present, fares vary by route.
• 0,50 GEL – on routes 1;2; 3; 4; 5; 6; 7; 10; 11
• 0.70 GEL -  on routes 19; 23; 31; 8; 9
• 1 GEL -  on all other routes

At present, there are no special terms on any TBC cards when used on Zugdidi public transport. Student / Pupil's Cards and payment cards issued to socially vulnerable persons are no exception.

All TBC credit and debit cards, as well as personalized and travel cards, are accepted on Kutaisi buses and 10 Minibuses.

General Terms of Travel

• No grace period/free transfer applies on Kutaisi transport after first payment.
• The special rate only applies to payments made with physical cards.
• Cash is not accepted on public transport. The fare can only be paid by bank/travel card.
• Fares are set by the City Hall. At present, the fare in all types of transportation is 60 Tetri

Special Terms on TBC Cards

On Kutaisi transport, there is a 50% discount for students of Kutaisi universities/colleges on their TBC Student Cards and the employees of the Nursery/Pre-School Education Union on their salary cards. 
For Employees of the Kutaisi cleaning service (Kutaisi special services), TBC Bank salary cards have a free travel rate.
For school students, TBC Bank pupil cards have a free travel rate.

Travel Cards

A municipal travel card can be purchased in Kutaisi TBC branches and Daily stores in Kutasi. A travel card costs 2 GEL and can be loaded at TBC Pay self-service kiosks that have a card reader.

Special terms (zero tariff or 50% discount) apply to personalized travel cards issued to certain categories of the vulnerable population as established by the City Hall. Such cards bear the holder's name, surname and photo. At present, personalized cards can be collected at Interpay LLC's dedicated offices in Kutaisi.

f) Households on the Socially Vulnerable Households Unified Database, with a rating score below or equal to 65.000.  

g) Employees of nursery/pre-school facilities;

h) Students of Kutaisi higher education and vocational education institutions;

i) Internally displaced veterans;

j) Chernobyl Disaster veterans.

To collect the card, it is necessary to present an ID document. Personalized cards are prepared on the spot.

All TBC credit and debit cards, as well as personalized and travel cards, are accepted on Gori buses.

There are no special terms on TBC Bank cards on Gori transport.

General Terms of Travel

• If you pay your fare by card and have to change for a different transport, a 1-hour grace period will apply after your first ride.
• If you validate your card more than once on the same transport, a 1-hour grace period will only apply after at least 15 minutes have passed since the first, paid ride.
• Cash is not accepted on public transport. The fare can only be paid by bank/travel card.
• Fares are set by the City Hall. Currently, the public transport fare is 50 tetris.

Travel Cards

A municipal travel card can be purchased in Gori TBC branches and Daily stores in Gori. A travel card costs 2 GEL and can be loaded at TBC Pay self-service kiosks.

Special Terms on TBC Cards

On Poti public transport, there are special terms for schoolchildren, on their TBC Pupil's Cards – two free rides a day. Once a TBC Pupil's Card has been used twice on transport, the card will be restricted for any further bus validations on the same day, including paid rides.

Travel Cards

A Municipal travel card can be purchased in Poti TBC branches, Daily and Beverly Group stores in Poti. A travel card costs 2 GEL and can be loaded at TBC Pay self-service kiosks. 

Personalized Cards

Special terms (zero tariff or 50% discount) apply to personalized travel cards issued to certain categories of the vulnerable population as established by the City Hall. Such cards bear the holder's name, surname and photo. At present, personalized cards can be collected at Interpay LLC's dedicated offices in Poti.

A 50% discount will apply to the following categories of Poti residents:

a) WWII veterans and persons equalized to them;

b) Veterans of the military actions for the territorial integrity, freedom and independence of Georgia and persons equalized to them;

d) Military veterans;

e) persons with severe disabilities;

The following categories of Poti residents are fully exempt from paying fare on Poti public transport:

a) Children aged 0- 6 years

b) Schoolchildren (2 free rides per day)

c) Beneficiaries, nurses and doctors of LEPL Poti Municipality Social Service Center 

Before the special terms become effective in Poti, the public will be informed regarding the eligible categories and the dates when to apply to Interpay LLC offices.

General Terms of Travel

• Fares are set by the City Hall. Currently, the public transport fare is 0.7 GEL.

Special Terms on TBC Cards

On Telavi public transport, there are special terms for:

• Pupils of Telavi public schools, on their TBC Pupil's Cards (0 tariff).
• Students of Telavi higher and vocational education institutions, on their TBC Student Cards (0.4 GEL).

Travel Cards

A Municipal travel card can be purchased in Telavi TBC branches. It costs 2 GEL and can be loaded at TBC Pay self-service kiosks.

Personalized Cards

On Telavi transport, special terms (0.4 GEL) apply to personalized travel cards issued to certain categories of the vulnerable population as established by the City Hall. Such cards bear the holder's name, surname and photo. At present, personalized cards are issued by Telavi City Hall.

A 0.4 GEL tariff will apply to the following categories of Telavi residents:

a) Pensioners under the Law on Georgia on State Pensions registered in Telavi Municipality;

b) IDPs registered in Telavi Municipality;

c) Veterans of war and the defense forces registered in Telavi Municipality;  

d) Persons with disabilities registered in Telavi Municipality; 

e) Households on the Socially Vulnerable Households Unified Database registered in Telavi Municipality, with a rating score below or equal to 100.000. 

f) Households with many children on the Socially Vulnerable Households Unified Database registered in Telavi Municipality, with a rating score below or equal to 150.000.   

g) Persons registered in Telavi Municipality, who were left without breadwinner and are included on the Socially Vulnerable Households Unified Database, with a rating score below or equal to 150.000.

h) Single parents on the Socially Vulnerable Households Unified Database registered in Telavi Municipality, with a rating score not exceeding 150.000.

i) Beneficiaries of Non-Entrepreneurial (Noncommercial) Legal Entity Telavi Municipal Service for the Vulnerable and Poor registered in Telavi Municipality;

All TBC credit and debit cards, as well as personalized and travel cards, are accepted on Bakuriani buses.

General Terms of Travel

• No grace period/free transfer applies on Bakuriani buses after first payment.
• Cash is not accepted on public transport. The fare can only be paid by bank/travel card.
• The special rate only applies to payments made with physical cards.
• Fares are set by the City Hall. Currently, the public transport fare is 1 GEL.

Special Terms on TBC Cards

On Bakuriani public transport, there are special terms for Bakuriani and Mitarbi village schoolchildren on their TBC Pupil's Cards (4 free rides a day). Once a TBC Pupil's Card has been used 4 times on transport, the card will be restricted for any further bus validations on the same day, including paid rides. 

Please note that special terms on a bank card become effective within max. 2-3 business days of issuing the card.

Travel Cards

A Municipal travel card can be purchased in Borjomi TBC branches, as well as in Bakuriani Market store at 1.18 Aghmashenebeli str. A travel card costs 2 GEL and can be loaded at TBC Pay self-service kiosks. 

 Personalized Cards

Special terms (zero tariff) apply to personalized travel cards issued to certain categories of the vulnerable population as established by the City Hall. Such cards bear the holder's name, surname and photo. At present, personalized cards are issued by the Bakuriani Development Agency.

The following persons are fully exempt from paying fare on Poti public transport:

a) Persons with disabilities registered in Bakuriani and Mitarbi village;

b) Veterans of the military actions for the territorial integrity, freedom and independence of Georgia, registered in Bakuriani and Mitarbi village;

c) Households on the Socially Vulnerable Households Unified Database registered in Bakuriani and Mitarbi village, with a rating score below 65001. 

All TBC credit and debit cards and travel cards, are accepted on Bakuriani buses.

• Cash is not accepted on public transport. The fare can only be paid by bank/travel card.

  Travel Cards

A Municipal travel card can be purchased in the Borjomi TBC branch , as well as in a market at 5 Meskheti street. A travel card costs 2 GEL and can be loaded at TBC Pay self-service kiosks. 

All TBC credit and debit cards, as well as personalized and travel cards, are accepted on buses in Mtskheta.

General Terms of Travel

• No grace period/free transfer applies on Mtskheta buses after first payment.
• Cash is not accepted on public transport. The fare can only be paid by bank/travel card.
• The special rate only applies to payments made with physical cards.
• Fares are set by the City Hall. Currently, the public transport fare: 1.70 GEL for the route - Narekvavi Settlement – King Parnavaz's Square -  Mukhatgverdi Village – Zahesi Settlement; 0.50 GEL for the route – Narekvavi Settlement - King Parnavaz's Square – Armazi.

Special Terms on TBC Cards

Special terms on Mtsheta public transport apply to:

• Mtskheta public school students on their TBC Pupils Card (zero tariff);
• Students registered in Mtskheta – on the route: Narekvavi Settlement – King Parnavaz's Square -  Mukhatgverdi Village – Zahesi Settlement (50% discount)

Please note that special terms on cards become effective within max. 2-3 business days of issuing the card.

Travel Cards

Travel cards can be purchased in Mtskheta TBC branches. A travel card costs 2 GEL and can be loaded at TBC Pay self-service kiosks. 

Personalized Cards

On the route Narekvavi Settlement – King Parnavaz's Square -  Mukhatgverdi Village – Zahesi Settlement, there are special terms (a 50% discount) on personalized travel cards issued to certain categories of the vulnerable population as established by the City Hall.

On the route Narekvavi Settlement – King Parnavaz's Square -  Mukhatgverdi Village – Zahesi Settlement, special terms (a 50% discount) apply to the following categories of citizens residing (registered) in Mtskheta: 

a) Veterans of War and Military Forces registered in Mtskheta Municipality;

b) Persons with disabilities registered in Mtskheta Municipality;

c) Socially vulnerable familities registered in Mtskheta Municipality;

The terms also apply to persons who are not registered in Mtskheta Municipality but have lived there permanently, which is confirmed by a certifcate issued by a City Hall officer in the corresponding administrative unit.

All TBC credit and debit cards, as well as personalized and travel cards, are accepted on Dmanisi intercity buses.

General Terms of Travel

• No grace period/free transfer applies on Dmanisi intercity buses after first payment.
• Cash is not accepted on public transport. The fare can only be paid by bank/travel card.
• The special rate only applies to payments made with physical cards.
• Fares are set by the City Hall. Currently, the fare is 5 GEL. 

 Special Terms on TBC Cards

Students registered in Dmanisi are eligible for travel allowance – on TBC Student Cards (two free rides a day)

 Travel Cards

Travel cards can be purchased in Dmanisi TBC branches. A travel card costs 2 GEL and can be loaded at TBC Pay self-service kiosks. 

Personalized Cards

There are special terms (2 free rides a day) on personalized travel cards issued to certain categories of the vulnerable population as established by the City Hall. Such cards bear the holder's name, surname and photo. At present, personalized cards are issued by Telavi Municipality.

Special terms (two free rides a day on municipal transport) apply to the following categories of citizens residing (registered) in Dmanisi: 

a) Veterans of War and Military Forces registered in Dmanisi Municipality;

b) Persons with disabilities registered in Dmanisi Municipality (patients undergoing dialysis, blind persons)

All TBC credit and debit cards, as well as personalized and travel cards, are accepted on buses in Baghdati Municipality.

General Terms of Travel

• No grace period/free transfer applies on Baghdati buses after first payment.
• Cash is not accepted on public transport. The fare can only be paid by bank/travel card.
• Fares are set by the City Hall. Currently, the public transport fare is 0.7 GEL.

Travel Cards

Travel cards can be purchased in Baghdati TBC branches. A travel card costs 2 GEL and can be loaded at TBC Pay self-service kiosks. 

All TBC credit and debit cards, as well as personalized and travel cards, are accepted on Akhaltsikhe Municipality buses.

General Terms of Travel

• No grace period/free transfer applies on the Municipality buses after the first payment.
• Cash is not accepted on public transport. Fares can only be paid by bank/travel card.
• Fares are set by the Municipality Administration (City Hall) per route: 1 GEL;  0.5 GEL;

 Special Terms on TBC Cards

There is a 50% discount for Samtskhe-Javakheti State University students on their TBC Student Cards in Akhaltsikhe Municipality.

There is a zero tariff for Akhaltsikhe Municipality school pupils on their TBC Pupils Cards.

Travel Cards

Travel cards can be purchased in Akhaltsikhe TBC branches. A travel card costs 2 GEL and can be loaded at TBC Pay self-service kiosks. 

Personalized Cards

There are special terms (zero tariff or 50% off) on personalized travel cards issued to certain categories of vulnerable population as established by the Municipality Administration. Such cards bear the holder's name, surname and photo.

The following categories of persons registered in Akhaltsikhe Municipality are entitled to free rides on municipal buses in Akhaltsikhe Municipality:

2. The following categories of citizens registered in Akhaltsikhe Municipality are entitled to a 50% discount on municipal buses in Akhaltsikhe Municipality: 

1. Veterans of War and Military Forces and persons equated with them;

To collect the card, it is necessary to present one's ID document. Personalized cards are prepared on the spot.

All TBC credit and debit cards, as well as personalized and travel cards, are accepted on Dedoplistskaro Municipality buses.

General Terms of Travel

• No grace period/free transfer applies on the Municipality buses after the first payment.
• Cash is not accepted on public transport. Fares can only be paid by bank/travel card.
• Fares are set by the Municipality Administration (City Hall) per route: 1 GEL.

Special Terms on TBC Cards

In Dedoplistskaro, there is a 50% discount on municipal transport for:

• Dedoplistskaro public and private school pupils on their TBC Pupils Cards
• Dedoplistskaro vocational school students on their TBC Student Cards;
• Dedoplistskaro public and private school teachers;

Please note that special terms on cards become effective within max. 2-3 business days of issuing the card. 

Travel Cards

Travel cards can be purchased in Dedoplistskaro TBC branches. A travel card costs 2 GEL and can be loaded at TBC Pay self-service kiosks. 

Personalized Cards

There are special terms (a zero tariff or  a 50% discount) on personalized travel cards issued to certain categories of vulnerable population as established by the Municipality Administration. Such cards bear the holder's name, surname and photo.

The following categories of Dedoplistskaro Municipality residents are entitled to free rides on municipal buses in Dedoplistskaro Municipality: 

a. Pensioners under the Law of Georgia on State Pensions;

b. IDPs (refugees);

c. Veterans of War and Military Forces

d. Persons with disabilities;

e. Socially vulnerable households with a rating score not exceeding 100.000.

f. Socially Vulnerable households with many children with a rating score not exceeding 150.000.

g. Socially Vulnerable households left without breadwinner, with a rating score not exceeding 150.000.

h. Socially Vulnerable single parents with a rating score not exceeding 150.000.

g. Single parents on the Socially Vulnerable Households Unified Database with a rating score not exceeding 150.000.

h. NNLE Sighnaghi Minicipality Free Canteen beneficiaries;
